Any Capri fan will remember the 80's TV series The Professionals. Most of us watch with great enjoyment and admired the way Bodie and Doyle drove their Capri's having the rear out at every occasion. The first two Capri that appeared on the series were mk 2 3.0 litre ghia's with Bodie finished in gold and Doyle's finished in silver. Doyle's car was fitted with the optional Rallye Sport bodykit. The episodes with these car was filmed in 1977. It is worth mentionioning that Professionals were not always about Capri's Bodie and Doyle also drove such cars as triumph TR7, Rover SDI, Triumph Dolomite as well as an Ford Escort RS 2000 but no one cares about them in 1978 and 1979 Bodie was driving a Mk 3 3.0 S and Doyle a RS2000 Escort. in 1980 Doyle ditched the escort for a gold 3.0 S, cause he couldn't keep up with Bodie? after this things took a twist in the episodes 1978 & 1979 Bodie's Capri reg. number was VOO 303T, in the 1980 Doyle same car reg. number was OAR 827 W and Doyle car reg was OAR 576W.then in the 1980 episodes Bodie and Doyle had new cars again finished in the same colour but new reg. VHK 11W and VHK 12W.it is though that this were the same car's as used before but resprayed and fitted with new wheels. |
